Language-oriented research to avoid gender bias in machine translation

Nowadays, the use of machine translation systems is on the rise and, as a result, concerns are being raised about the quality of the results provided by the tools. One of these problems is gender bias and we will analyse the results of machine translation from a gender perspective. To this end, samples of different types of texts (literature, science, journalism) will be taken and translated using the automatic translator, and the most frequent ones will be analysed and checked for compliance with the criteria to be defined for this research work. We will make proposals for these systems to reduce gender bias based on our findings.
